Using the Library this summer
Published on 24 August 12
You have been working hard to meet deadlines and complete important parts of your course. Now you should be celebrating and enjoying a well deserved break, and many of you may be leaving Manchester soon for an extended period of time.
Before moving on to your summer holiday, job or internship, or a much needed rest at home, please don’t forget to return all of your library books.
Books can be recalled as normal over the summer, so make sure you don’t have any outstanding loans which you couldn’t return to the Library at short notice – or you could end up with a large fine.
The Library service is here for you as normal over the Summer, take advantage of all it has to offer, but please note some slight changes to opening hours – click here for full details of opening hours at each of the library sites.
You can borrow books as normal over the vacation period, but they are still subject to recall, so if you have any doubt in your ability to return them at short notice, please don’t take books off campus.
It is important to make sure your account is completely clear of fines or outstanding loans, otherwise it may cause complications with retrieving your exam results and enrolling in next year’s courses.
Pay library fines simply and easily online, with the e-payment system.
It is easy to return books at a time or location that suits you, take advantage of the many different library sites and book return drop off boxes.
