This year Raise and Give (RAG) are hoping to raise £600,000 for charity and they need your help to do it.

What have students already done?

Jailbreak, which saw students try to get as far away from Manchester as they could in 30hours without spending a penny, has recently come to an end. The winning team, Dilworth 3, made it to Krakow, Poland.

You can click here to see a map of how far each team managed to get.

Why should you get involved?

Getting involved with RAG will not only help the charities that benefit from the fundraising efforts but you can gain some valuable skills and have some fun along the way.

"Working with Manchester RAG has improved my university life and expanded my horizons for the future. I have gained experience working with an organised team of people to put together large-scale events and raise some serious amounts of money for some fantastic causes. I have had the opportunity to develop real skills that I know will help me become a better future graduate and employee, and I have also met some kind, ambitious, like-minded people and made some real friends. For me, RAG has provided a well-rounded university experience and opened up possibilities for my future. I would recommend getting involved with RAG to any future student."

Build up Manchester Leadership Programme Hours

If you are an MLP student then working with Manchester RAG is a fantastic way to get some volunteering hours under your belt.

As a general guide to which RAG activities count then check the MLP GUIDE. In order to register your MLP hours, you must agree with the event coordinator beforehand that the volunteering hours will count.

Here’s just one way you can help

You can volunteer as bar staff at Manchester RAG's Beerfest. The annual Manchester RAG beer festival is one of the biggest and most famous events in the RAG calendar. This year, Beerfest is a three day event being held at the south campus Student's Union between 28-30 November.

Volunteers can apply to work at the event as bar staff serving over 60 cask ales, 20 international bottled beers, 20 flavoured vodkas, and 10 ciders. There are also opportunities to volunteer to promote the event. To get involved sign up for as many or as little hours as you fancy online at manchesterrag.com/portal or email volunteers@manchesterrag.com for more information. Places are limited so apply as soon as you can.
