All I want for Christmas is...A good night’s sleep
Published on 6 December 12
With the end of term fast approaching, lectures and coursework winding down, minds are turning to Christmas/ End of Term parties. Spare a thought for your neighbours who live in our communities all year round.
Both the University of Manchester and MMU work with Manchester city council and Greater Manchester Police all year round to tackle noisy student parties. Since the beginning of term they have visited around 150 student houses. So if you want to avoid a knock at the door, please keep these tips in mind: - Try and limit the noise you make at home - If you’re coming home from a night out, keep the noise down as you come back. - If you do have people around, speak to your neighbours, give them your mobile number, agree a time to finish it and stick to it! - Close windows and doors, and be careful about noise outside the property. Remember the behaviour of your guests is your responsibility! Leaving for Christmas checklist:- Parties: Respect your neighbours, try and keep noise to a minimum. - Rubbish: Make sure your bins are emptied and you have brought them back in - Security: take valuables home, lock windows and doors, set your alarm
If you're unsure about the day which your bins are emptied you can check here.
