What to do if you can't get to an exam

Published on 22 January 13

If you are unable to attend any of your exams for any reason, you need to contact your school office at the earliest opportunity to make them aware and they will be able to advise you on what steps to take next.

Without mitigation you will not be permitted to re-sit any missed examinations, so it is important that you contact your school, and complete a form of mitigation.

Mitigating circumstances can be used in instances of unforeseeable or unpreventable circumstances that have an impact on your studies. You can find out more about mitigation on the Crucial Guide and if you think you need to apply for mitigation, contact your school office.
