Series of events to mark LGBT history month

Events throughout February include Jeanette Winterson in conversation, and a screening of the Alan Turing film.

To mark Lesbian Gay Bisexual Trans (LGBT) History Month, the Equality and Diversity team are proud to present a range of events across the campus and the city.

LGBT History Month is celebrated every February. History demonstrates how times have changed in the UK, but there is still a lot of progress to be made around the world.

This year the focus is on science and maths, and includes a screening of Codebreaker, the film about the brilliance - and destruction - of one of Manchester's most famous alumni, Alan Turing. Elsewhere, novelist and professor of Creative Writing, Jeanette Winterson, will be in conversation with Abi Morgan, writer of Iron Lady and TV series The Hour.

You may not identify as LGBT, but a colleague, fellow student, relative or friend might do and so by attending an event you are supporting them too.
