Bus staff 'shocked' by anti-social behaviour at Owens Park

Going out and having a good time with friends is all part of the university experience, but make sure your good night out doesn’t get out of hand. There have been an increasing number of antisocial behaviour incidents, particularly around Owens Park.

Staff from Stagecoach, the bus company, say they’re “shocked” by some of the behaviour at peak night-time hours. Attempts to take alcohol onboard, bottles and glasses thrown at buses, and other disorderly behaviour have resulted in buses being advised not to stop at Owens Park at all during some of the busiest periods.

Anti-social behaviour

Street drinking, being disorderly, and threatening behaviour are classed as anti-social behaviour and while you may be unaware that you are being anti-social, you could face criminal charges.

A small minority have been causing problems lately, so make sure you don’t join in with the crowds if things get out of hand! Pace your drinks, stay with friends and don’t drink when out and about to avoid getting mixed up with any anti-social behaviour.

Drinking safely
