Tell Us about your teaching

Unit surveys are the most effective way for you to give feedback directly to your School - and you can now complete them on your mobile

If you are taking an undergraduate or postgraduate degree, we need you to tell us about your teaching experiences, whether good or bad, and how things can be improved.

For each course unit you are studying, you will be asked to fill out a unit survey.

Semester two unit surveys will be available from Monday 29 April until Friday 17 May.

What difference will it make?

Unit surveys are part of our commitment to work with you to improve the quality of teaching and learning.

Results from the surveys are reviewed during the Annual Performance Review of each Faculty.

The aim is:

  • to identify units that achieve high levels of satisfaction so that the staff concerned can be congratulated, and their achievements shared with other course directors;
  • to identify units that achieve low levels of satisfaction so Faculties and Schools can make improvements.

In response to feedback received from students in the unit surveys, we introduced small group seminars for every option on the Geography programmes, and also removed groupwork from the 3rd year.

How can I complete them?

Depending on your academic School, the unit surveys can be completed on your mobile, online, or on paper.

Mobile

Download the EvaluationKIT app to your Apple or Android device, and enter the unique key in your Unit Surveys email (more information).

Online

Log into Blackboard using the link in My Manchester to find the individual unit surveys. Also look out for an email with links to all of your unit surveys.

Paper

You’ll be given the unit survey to complete in lectures and seminars.

What happens next?

Once collated, results will be made available to each School. The best way to find out what's happening to the data and how it's being used is to ask your course rep - they will be able to raise this at meetings with staff.
