Advice and guidance to help you find a job over the summer

If you’re thinking about what to do with yourself over the summer, you should consider finding either paid or voluntary work. You can gain some great transferrable skills that may be able to help you land your dream job after graduation.

Where should I look?

The Careers Service advertises a wide range of jobs which aren’t just for graduates. If you’re looking for some work over the summer, take a look at CareersLink. They only list current vacancies from trusted employers.

Where can I get help applying for jobs?

The Part-time jobs booklet has useful advice about where to find part time jobs, how to apply and how to avoid scam job advertisement. You can also make an appointment to speak with an advisor by contacting the Careers Service or visiting them in Crawford House.

Not staying in Manchester?

The Careers Service have lots of online material to help you search for jobs, and CareersLink advertises jobs all over the conutry. Take a look at the Careers Services' advice online about work experience for more advice about vacation work, internships, placements and much more. There are also a whole host of Facebook groups tailored to different courses. Find your course's Facebook group here.

Graduating?

Take a look at the summer careers events to find out about the different opportunities on offer to you.
