Become a Widening Participation Fellow and change someone's life

Published on 6 August 13

We're looking for PhD students to help deliver a positive experience of higher education to school students with academic potential who might otherwise feel University is not an option for them.

Widening Experience Learners are youngsters who may come from neighbourhoods where the fewest people nationally go to university, who receive free meals or have little or no family history of attending higher education.

As a WP Fellow you would support learners in finding out how to use their skills and knowledge to get into university, whether that’s at Manchester or any other institution, through workshops, presentations, visits and open day activities centred around your own subject area.

Being a WP Fellow is a unique and exciting opportunity to enhance your employability, develop new skills and contribute to the University of Manchester’s social responsibility agenda.

There are a number of posts available in each Faculty and one post which is specific to The Ahmed Iqbal Ullah Race Relations Resource Centre. More information about the University’s widening participation work can be found at the following sites:-

The application process closes at 5pm on Friday, 16 August. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to interview which will take place between 26 August and 6 September.
