LinguistMix launches a new series of events
Published on 2 November 12
Do you want to know about the language of Yoda? Interested to see how the study of language is approached by other disciplines? Come to LinguistMix for presentations, mingling and free food and drink
LinguistMix offers the opportunity for different disciplines to come together and discuss how the study of language is approached in their area of expertise. The study of language is not restricted only to language degrees, many other disciplines study language from psychology, sociology and philosophy, to neuroscience, computer science and mathematics.
Students from all discipline areas are encouraged to join us. Whether you’re currently researching the study of language or you are just interested in finding out what language has to do with computer science you are welcome to come along, no previous knowledge of linguistics is necessary.
The new series of LinguistMix events have attracted speakers from a diverse range disciplines. Starting off this series will be presentations about the speech of Yoda, and the impact of Specific Language Impairment (SLI), a hidden disability.
