Sick of sitting in the library? Don't want another meal deal? If you're having a bad day and want to eat something warm and tasty check out our pick of the best snacks around campus.
Café Muse
Where: Oxford Road, opposite Uni Place and next to Manchester Museum.
Why: A little pricey, but reliable informants tell us that the hot chocolate is amazing.
Kukoo's Street Food
Where: Oxford Road, opposite what used to be the old BBC (now a car park).
Why: This Indian, Moroccan and Lebanese Street Food shop is definitely worth the 15 minute walk. Street crisps and dips are £1.50 are definitely worth a try, samosas start from £1, and the refreshing and delicious Indian lemonade starts at £2. If your wallet is feeling healthy, wraps and salads start from £3.50.
Greggs
Where: Near the Whitworth Park Halls of Residence and opposite the MRI.
Why: There's nothing quite like a conciliatory Greggs to cheer yourself up after a bad day's work or a questionable exam. Its vitamin content is (probably) low, but it's comfort rating is relatively high.
Eighth Day Café
Where: Oxford Road, next to MMU's student union, and opposite All Saints Park.
Why: Veggie burritos cost around £2, other savoury tarts around £1.50.
Eat Goody
Where: Behind Sandbar, opposite the entrance to the Sugden Centre and next to Bicycle Boutique.
Why: A small Korean establishment, snacks start £1.40, with small 'light bite' meals at £3.20. The sweet chilli chicken light bite is a great treat for lunch if you want something hot and different. Special of the day is £3.95.
