National Student Money Week

Get your finances together with advice from the University’s student money advisor, find out how to win a basket full of shopping, and refresh your wardrobe for free

11-15th February is National Student Money Week and The University of Manchester, in conjunction with the Students’ Union, are hosting a series of events across campus focusing on student related finance issues

Drop-in sessions and workshops

There will be drop in sessions where you can speak to the University’s money adviser, Katie Urnevitch, ask questions about money matters and grab a free gift.

You might want to attend one of the budgeting workshops offering advice on managing your finances on a student income.

Update your wardrobe for free

If you are bored with your current wardrobe but don’t have the money to go out and buy new clothes, the Students’ Union will be running a clothes swap where you can trade your old unwanted items for something new.

The Clothes swap will take place on Valentine’s Day in Council Chambers between 10am and 5pm. If you have clothes that are only taking up valuable space in your wardrobe, drop them off in the Student Voice Office any time from Monday 11th to Wednesday 13th.

Win free shopping

Why not enter the Supermarket Challenge. You can try and win items of food shopping by guessing how much it all costs. Pop along to the Student Services Centre between 2 – 4pm on Friday 15th February to get involved.

There will also be competitions running throughout the week, with the chance of winning iTunes and other gift vouchers. For those of you who can’t make it to an event, there are online activities for you to get involved in.
