Unit Surveys now open
Published on 9 December 15
How would you answer about the modules you've taken in semester 1? Unit Surveys have now opened; giving you the chance to give us your honest feedback.
"Overall, I would rate this unit as being excellent."
"The feedback I received on my work was helpful."
What are Unit Surveys?
Unit surveys are very short questionnaires. Every undergraduate and postgraduate masters course unit has one, and they are the easiest way for you to tell us about the quality of teaching you receive.
Why should I fill them in?
You've told us that the teaching you receive is the most important part of your student experience. To make sure we're making improvements in the right places, we need your feedback about what's good, and what needs to change.
How do I complete the unit surveys?
The unit surveys can be completed on your mobile or online.
Online
Log into Blackboard using the link in My Manchester to find the individual unit surveys. You will also be sent an email with links to all of your unit surveys.
Mobile
Download the EvaluationKIT app to your Apple or Android device, and enter the unique key from your Unit Surveys email . If you have previously downloaded the app your surveys will just appear in your app.
How do I give my opinion when unit surveys aren't taking place?
We depend on your honest feedback to make sure you have the teaching, resources, and facilities you need to succeed. If you have something to say when unit surveys aren't running there are several ways you can still make a difference:
- Speak to your lecturer, tutor, academic advisor, or course administrator directly. Remember that respectful, constructive criticism, backed up with examples, and with preferred alternatives where possible, is more likely to result in a positive effect.
- Speak to your course and programme rep. These are students who have chosen to join staff-student panels. They often have a very good relationship with staff, and can give your concerns a voice in School-level forums. There's lots more information about reps here.
- Speak to your Faculty Students Union Rep. Faculty reps work to create positive change, not only regarding your individual courses, but on wider University issues too. Find out who your Faculty Academic Rep is here.
