Safe social networking
Social networking is a really useful tool when it comes to online communication but you should be wary of what information you put online and how secure it is. These tips have been put together so you can comment, tweet and blog with the peace of mind that your details are safe.
- Use different passwords for different accounts and update them regularly.
- Use privacy settings so you know who has access to details such as your address and date of birth.
- Don’t add people you don’t know. You wouldn’t send your details to a stranger you don’t know so don’t allow them to view your online profiles.
- Stay up to date with changes to your social network’s settings as this could leave your personal details more publicly available than before.
