Zeus computer virus: how to protect your computer

A number of computers around campus have been infected by the Zeus computer virus, so make sure you know how to keep you details safe
If this computer virus infects your machine, your University credentials and personal details are at risk. This virus can be distributed by several methods most often by opening an infected email.
Advice to keep your computer safe
- Never open an attachment, or click on a link, from a person you do not know.
- If you do receive such an email your unsure about, delete it immediately and then delete it from your deleted items folder.
Examples of the emails that have been causing this problem include subjects such as; ‘Fax’, ‘VAT returns’ and ‘parcel deliveries’. It's usually quite obvious from the sender and subject if it's an email you can trust, but remember:
