Bike security warning after thefts

Over the past week or so, Greater Manchester Police have been notified of a number of bike thefts from around the University area.
There are a few things you can do to look after your bike and ensure it's still there after a long, hard day in the Library revising or lab.
If it's not already, please make sure it's security marked – there are a few bike marking events left this year, including some at the Main Library and University Place – click here for details.
Secondly please try and ensure you lock your bike up at a recognised rack.
Finally it’s worth investing in a good strong ‘D’ type lock; the University is currently giving students the chance to buy one at a special subsidised rate of just £15.
