Congratulations from the President and Vice Chancellor

Published on 8 June 12

As the academic year draws to a close, I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for all your hard work and contributions and commitment to University life.

Those of you attending graduation will, of course, be returning to Manchester to celebrate your success with your friends and family, and we look forward to welcoming you back.

I want to wish you every success in your future, whether that’s employment or further study, or perhaps even taking some time out to ponder your options and broaden your horizons.

Remember our Careers Service is here to help you, and as a Manchester graduate you can call on them for help and support for up to three years after graduation.

You can also keep in touch via our Alumni Association, which has over 250,000 members across the world, and aims to keep you connected to the University via a programme of events, reunions and networking opportunities.

It isn’t the bricks, mortar, wires, technology, equipment and pieces of paper that make this University great and successful – it is our people: our students and our staff.

During your studies you have, in your own way, enriched, shaped and moulded the University, to the great benefit of those who will follow in your footsteps, and we thank you for this.

I hope you are leaving Manchester with happy memories, and strong, supportive friendships and relationships that will sustain for many years to come. Please do remember that our doors are always open to you.

Once again, I wish you all the very best for the future.

Nancy
