Your IT account after graduation

Published on 8 June 12

Make sure you save copies of all the files you want to keep before you no longer have access to your University email account and P: drive

After your impending graduation, your University IT account will close on 31st July 2012.  This means that you will the lose access to your University email account and Outlook Live; access to My Manchester and access to you any documents you saved when logged in to a University computer, or P: drive

If there are any files that you want to keep located in the SkyDrive facility associated with your Outlook Live account or P:drive, you will need to think about saving these to an alternative location.

Likewise, any emails in your University Outlook Live account that you wish to retain should be forwarded to another email account, or saved to another location. If you have used your University email address as your contact details or login, you should update these to appropriately to alternative email account.

You will also no longer have access to any Microsoft credits associated with your University email account.

You deserve to celebrate all your hard work and have certainly earned a break, but with so much else going on to do with completing your course, graduation, and maybe starting a new job or moving to a new home, you should think about starting to transfer any files now whilst you have time.

If you have any problems transferring files or accessing your accounts before 31 July, please do not hesitate to contact IT services helpdesk.
