Welcome To Manchester site launches for new students

Get essential information about starting at the University, and meet other students starting your course or living near to you.
If you're joining The University of Manchester for the first time in September, congratulations! To help guide you through your next steps of accepting your place and registering as a student, as well as preparing for life here, we've launched a new Welcome micro-site just for you.
The site is tailored to you - once you've logged in you'll be able to access all of the features to help you 'unlock your potential':
- Create a profile and upload a photo to the virtual lecture theatre and join the Class of 2012
- Search for other students starting your course, living in your hall of residence, or who share interests
- Link your Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram profiles to start making connections before you come to Manchester
- Get advice for last year's students in the Hand Me Downs video gallery
- Explore the city of Manchester and get points for visiting its landmarks and hotspots
- Enter competitions and quizzes to win great prizes from local businesses like the Manchester Velodrome and Blackwells University Bookshop

Anyone can visit the Welcome website, but to create a profile you'll need a University of Manchester email address. You can also log in using your Facebook account, using your University email account for validation.
Don't have a University of Manchester email account?
To get your University of Manchester email account you need to complete IT sign up. You'll then have access to the full range of IT services, including your student email address.
