Enhancing My Manchester Experience

A new £24m student building with 1,000 study spaces, £10m of improvements to teaching and social space, and a major upgrade of campus Wifi – these are just a few examples of the University’s commitment to enhancing the student experience.

One of the University's priorities is to ensure students are at the heart of the institution and enjoy an outstanding experience. We are working in close partnership with students and representatives from the Students Union to achieve this.

Much has been done already, some projects are underway, while others will take longer to achieve.

Several million pounds has already been spent on improving teaching spaces and creating better social spaces for students, while the £24m state-of-the-art Alan Gilbert Learning Commons - complete with 1,000 study spaces, 400 computers and wi-fi throughout - will open later this year.
