Working 9 to 5 isn't for everyone. Nor is wearing a suit every day or working for someone else.
March is 'Careers with a Difference' month and the Careers Service has arranged a number of events designed to help you think outside of the box when it comes to your career.
What is on offer?
- Enterprise- 'Are you crazy enough to run your own business?' - why don’t you come along and find out? Plus, we can help you get started with writing a business plan and everything else you need to go it alone.
- Environmental Sector- Keen on all things green? Working in the environmental sector might be for you! Find out- from those who have made it- what it takes to make it.
- International Development- What to change the world? Come along to our entire afternoon dedicated to International Development and find out how!
- Media- Our two-day ‘Insight into Broadcasting and Journalism’ interactive workshop returns at the end of March. Hear from industry experts what a career in the media is really like and try it out for yourself in our very own newsroom.
- MGIP- The Manchester Graduate Internship Programme has been successfully placing recent graduates in a variety of paid internships within the Manchester area for the past five years. Come and find out what it’s all about, and how to write a killer application.
- Uncertain after graduation? Tales of the Unexpected- Don’t worry, you are not alone- come and find out how those who have gone before you overcame this and where they ended up. It’s more common than you think!
- Voluntary, Charity, Public and Third Sector- Want a career with a difference, that makes a difference? Discover how to succeed in this competitive job market.
