Make the most of the Easter Break

Use your study time effectively, take advantage of the support available and make sure you get the grades you deserve.
While you will be looking forward to some rest and relaxation in your Easter break, it is important to remember how close your deadlines really are, and keep revision at the forefront of your mind.
- Exams start as early as 16 May, and you can expect your timetable to be released in the middle of April. Make sure you check your student email account regularly to see your exam timetable as soon as it is released.
If you’re not sure where to start with your revision, take a look at the excellent Faculty of Humanities Study Skills web site – the advice there is relevant to everyone, not just humanities students, including tips on making a revision plan and how to revise.
You should also ensure that you read and reflect upon your feedback, and learn from it. Having direct and detailed comments on your assignments can be a great opportunity to enhance your skills and knowledge. There is more on this, again, on the Faculty of Humanities Study Skills web site.
As part of your revision, you should practice answering real exam questions; you can find plenty of them by looking through past papers (you will need your University login and password).
If you’re worried about your exams – talk to someone. Your Academic Advisor would be a good person to start with. Alternatively, you might find the Student Guidance Service, the Counselling Service or the Students’ Union Advice Centre useful sources of support.
