Exam timetables - check your inbox!

Published on 13 April 12

If you are taking end of term exams, check your inbox for an important email, sent on Friday 30 March.

It details how to find your timetable, what to do if there are any problems, preparation tips and guidelines and policies.

For any issues that are not addressed within the email, you can contact the Examinations Team in the Student Services Centre on Burlington Street (near the Main Library), open from 9am until 5pm, Monday to Friday. Telephone 0161 275 5000 (Option 3).

- Maximise your revision -

Use your study time effectively, take advantage of the support available and make sure you get the grades you deserve.

If you’re not sure you’re making the most of your revision, take a look at the excellent Faculty of Humanities Study Skills web site – the advice there is relevant to everyone, not just humanities students, including tips on making a revision plan and how to revise.

You should also ensure that you read and reflect upon your feedback, and learn from it. Having direct and detailed comments on your assignments can be a great opportunity to enhance your skills and knowledge. There is more on this, again, on the Faculty of Humanities Study Skills web site.

As part of your revision, you should practice answering real exam questions; you can find plenty of them by looking through past papers (you will need your University login and password).

If you’re worried about your exams – talk to someone. Your Academic Advisor would be a good person to start with. Alternatively, you might find the Student Guidance Service, the Counselling Service  or the Students’ Union Advice Centre useful sources of support.
