Money to support overseas travel
Published on 12 April 12

Are you a student wanting to travel overseas in the summer of 2012? The Alumni Association is offering awards of £250 to current students who want to make a global impact.
To be eligible for the award your overseas trip must have a measurable benefit, whether social or practical, on the community you are visiting.
The applications are open to current Manchester students across all disciplines, both undergraduate and postgraduate – except for those in their final year of study.
Think you might be eligible to receive a Global Impact Award? Run through this quick checklist and find out:
- I am a current undergraduate or postgraduate student and this is not my final year of study
- My trip will enhance my broader development.
- My trip is overseas
- My trip will benefit a marginalised or vulnerable group
- My trip this summer will have a sustainable benefit to the community I am visiting (in either a social or practical manner)
- I am travelling between the end of this university year to beginning of the next university year.
- I have identified and approached other sources of funding
- I am enthusiastic and committed to travelling
Do you tick all those boxes? Then make sure you don’t miss out – email ellen.robotham@manchester.ac.uk to request your application form today.
* The deadline for all applications in 27 April. *
Please note: Your application for a Global Impact Award will not be considered if you are travelling for leisure, a sports event or to an academic conference, or if you are travelling to your country of origin.
