Manage your time better

Published on 19 December 16

The start of a new year is a great time to think about how you can get organised, boost your productivity and make time for the things you may always feel too busy for.

Plan, plan, plan

Reduce your stress levels and plan your time in advance! Think ahead and prioritise tasks so you can wake up each morning, knowing your only job for each day is to stick to the plan as best as you can.

Set yourself time limits

Identify what has to be done by when and give yourself time limits! Why not try setting yourself a deadline and seeing if you can halve it?

Get a calendar and be realistic about deadlines

Put your deadlines clearly on a calendar and keep it visible to ensure you stay aware of what needs to be done.

Work smarter, not harder

It is far better to spend part of your day doing focused, high-quality work than to spend all of your day doing work of poor quality. Don't force yourself to work on the same task all day, unless you absolutely need to. Take regular breaks and factor in time to refresh in between tasks.

Make time for the important people in your life

No matter how much you've got on this year, you should always factor in time to spend with your friends and family. Connecting with those around you is so important, so when you are planning your day/week/month/year, set some time aside for seeing these people or to reconnect with old friends. Get planning some fun activities!
