Think about your future

Whether you're a first year, a finalist, or a postgrad - it is important to lay some solid foundations for your future when you’re applying for jobs. Remember, the things you get involved in right now will be your store of experience when you need it.

Ask yourself: ‘What do I want to do?’

Some people seem to know instinctively what it is they want to do, which is great but it’s not always that easy! Here are a few ways which can help you figure it out:

1. Get a mentor

Manchester Gold matches students with mentors in a wide variety of industries, so not only can you gain a real insight into different roles and help develop your skills, but you'll have access to some one-to-one advice and experience.

2. Volunteering

Donating your time to a good cause will not only make you feel great, but your CV will thank you for it. It’s an immediate way to fill in skills gaps and top up your experience, and you might even pick up some new friends along the way!

We have a number of ways for you to get involved right here on campus, from local community outreach to raising funds for causes across the globe.

3. Work experience and part-time work
