Thought about international volunteering?

Have you ever wanted to volunteer internationally or would love the chance to lead a team in another country? Well look no further as we are now looking for an Assistant Project Leader for Team Uganda summer 2017!

Team Uganda is a fully funded international volunteering project, exclusively for students at the University of Manchester.  It is run in partnership with S.A.L.V.E. International, a charity working in Uganda with children living on the streets.  This year the team will spend a month in Uganda from 22nd July to 19th August, where they will support S.A.L.V.E. by delivering two community research projects and running holiday camps.

The Assistant Project Leader role is open to any UG or PG student in any year.  We are looking for students with some experience of leading peers, overseas experience, and volunteering.  Each of these can be in any capacity and not necessarily all from the same experience!  You could have a mix of things for example Peer Mentoring, travelling / studying / working overseas and volunteering in your home country or abroad.  Deadline Wednesday 8th February.  Check out this video to get a taster of what the role involves!

All successful candidates will need to be available for the key dates, and will take part in lots of pre-departure preparation and training, supported by the University Volunteering Team and S.A.L.V.E.   This is an exciting opportunity not to be missed and you don’t need to wait for the deadline to apply

Not quite ready to become an Assistant Project Leader?  We are also recruiting for Team Members for the community research projects and holiday camps.
