Team Uganda – Applications are now open for summer 2017!

Have you ever wanted to volunteer internationally or would you love the chance to lead a team in another country? Well look no further as we are now looking for 15 volunteers including an Assistant Project Leader for Team Uganda Summer 2017!

This fully funded international volunteering project, exclusively for University of Manchester students is a partnership project between the University and S.A.L.V.E. (Support and Love Via Education) International, a charity based in Manchester and working in Uganda. S.A.L.V.E. works with children on the streets in Jinja, using the power of education to provide opportunities for them to leave their difficult pasts behind them and move off the streets towards a brighter future.

This exciting opportunity will take place from Saturday 22nd July to Sunday 19th August, delivering two community research projects:

All members of the team will also jointly contribute to running a holiday camp for young people who were formerly on the streets of Uganda. The aim of the camp is to develop their knowledge, skills and talents, it will be creative and enjoyable as well as a platform for learning.

The team will be joined by 7 Ugandan volunteers they will work alongside for the duration of the project in Jinja
