The JustFest Food Drive: support the community!

Published on 10 February 17

The JustFest Food Drive will support the Manchester Central Foodbank and is taking place on Monday, 13 and Friday, 17 February, outside the Chaplaincy on Oxford Road. So get involved and do something to make a difference in your local community.

Here, we will be handing out tote bags for you to fill up with donations and hand in at points around campus, which will then be given to people in the local community in need of help.

In celebration of Fairtrade Fortnight, we will also be giving away free samples of Fairtrade produce to get you thinking about the effect your buying power has and the positive impact that Fairtrade has on producer’s lives.

Finally, it is the last call to take part in the JustFest Short Film Competition, this is open to all undergraduate students and is an exciting opportunity to develop a short video on an issue of social justice that matters to you. After the success of last year’s competition, which attracted over 9,500 views on YouTube, we will also be hosting an evening event for those of you who have submitted films. This will include a talk from a keynote speaker, networking opportunities and an announcement of the shortlisted films.
