Student Volunteering Week is coming to the University of Manchester from the 20 - 24 February 2017!

Published on 17 February 17

Here at the University of Manchester, we know it’s important to give back and get involved in our community. As a student, there are so many opportunities available for you to get involved and volunteer your time, and every little bit really does count.

When you hear the word ‘volunteering’, what do you think of? Many people assume that to volunteer you have to get involved in big charity project, fulfil a set amount of hours or travel to get involved. But this year Student Volunteer Week 2017 is all about making the small things count and finding quick, easy ways to make a difference in your community, and spotlighting the amazing work of student volunteers here in Manchester and across the UK.

We have a variety of information sessions and lectures, giving you the chance to find out about topical issues and how you can volunteer to make a difference. To help you along, we’ve got together a few highlights for you to get involved with:

Highlights include:

Wednesday’s Big Action Day in Fallowfield – helping to clear an alleyway in Ladybarn

Bag packing to fundraise for Greater Manchester Youth Network on Friday

International volunteering information sessions on Monday
