Digilab is back!

Published on 21 February 17

It's the last DigiLab event of the academic year, so we hope you'll all come down and share your thoughts on this year's activity, and what you'd like to see in the future. Here’s a glimpse of what we’ll have at the March event:

Omar Costilla Reyes, one of our own PhD students, is coming in to demonstrate how machine learning works. It’s always a pleasure to feature work by our own staff and students.

As per usual, we’ve got some really cool tech to explore. Wizdish will be bringing along their revolutionary ‘ROVR’ VR treadmill, and we’re excited to have Microsoft HoloLens available at DigiLab – we can think of lots of ways that interacting with a digital environment in these ways could transform our ways of learning here at the University.

Social Responsibility is at the heart of Manchester’s 2020 vision, and One Five West will be here to tell us all about their interactive artwork installations which aim to transform unfriendly areas into collaborative public spaces. SwapBots, from Draw & Code, are collectable and customisable toys which attempt to bridge the gap between digital and physical play spaces for children, without the hidden costs.
