Planned changes to the process of ethical review of research

All staff and students who wish to perform research involving human participants need to obtain ethical review approval. A project is underway to introduce a new online Ethics Review Manager (ERM) for processing applications for such approval.

The new system will go live on the 9^th September 2016. There will be a 60 day crossover period in which ethics applications will still be accepted via designated Ethics Signatories. After this period applications  should be submitted through the new on-line Ethical Review Manager (ERM).

Training guides and videos will be available from the Research Ethics and IT Training website closer to the launch date. These will explain how to use the system and answer frequently asked questions.
