Get involved in World Mental Health Day today!

For #WMHD16, there is so much going on around campus to spread the word and raise awareness of mental health. Let’s get people talking and encourage positive action about wellbeing issues which affect so many of us but aren’t necessarily spoken about as much as they should be.

Time to Change Coffee Morning
Activities Space, Students’ Union, 9.30am-11.30am

Pop in at any time throughout the morning for free tea and coffee! Come together and break the silence around mental health problems – they affect 1 in 4 of us.

Mental Health Fair
Outside University Place, 11am-3pm

Drop by for information on local mental health services, Yoga & Meditation Society, Nightline and more. Vent your frustrations on Boxing Society’s practise pads, or have your say on whether calling your tidy housemate ‘OCD’ is offensive or just harmless banter.

The Mental Health Fair will now feature a bouncy castle and bake sale – so bring change! All donations will be going to Manchester Mind

Panel discussion: Keeping Happy, Healthy Minds at University
University Place, Room 5.206, 6pm-7pm

Hear our panel of students, campaigners and experts in mental health talk about their work and experiences, before answering your questions about maintaining good mental wellbeing at University.

It is so important for people to talk about mental health, so whether it’s an issue you’re passionate about or something you haven’t really heard of before, we’d love to see you there! Join the Facebook event and get involved.
