Why not take an elective module in a UCIL course?

Do you feel limited by your course units? How about a free choice module in something completely different? Totally outside of your programme area but at the same time, bearing credits which contribute to your degree.

Enter UCIL. The University College for Interdisciplinary Learning University College allows you to study units from across the university and are taught by the same academics who teach discipline-based programmes. Not a language student? Not a problem. Why not pick up anything from Japanese to French, our LEAP course units are open to all and taught by specialists from the University’s Language Centre.

UCIL introduces you to issues, topics and new ways of thinking, tackling the key questions facing society in the 21st century. Themes encompass global citizenship, entrepreneurial and professional skills and sustainability with courses which include Essential Enterprise and Climate Change & Society.

These units allow you to develop invaluable knowledge which will compliment your studies and ultimately, broaden your skill base and make you more employable. Taking a UCIL course unit makes for a unique learning experience by giving you the chance to meet and study with other students from different degree programmes across the university.
